Hello my name is Jackie Guers. I am a highly qualified, certified teacher in the state of Maryland. I received my education at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. I graduated in 2007 with a Master's in Deaf Education. The reason why I got into education was because of my brother. One day I went to visit my brother at his school and I met his teacher. She was so enthusiastic, fun, and hard working and I knew I wanted to be just like her. I wanted to be a teacher. I currently work at the Maryland School for the Deaf. I teach 2nd grade in all content areas. I work on a team with another teacher due to our large class size (12). However we teach each content area seperately except for Science and Social Studies. I am very familiar with the Frederick County public school curriculum. I feel however that I would be able to adapt and follow other curriculums just as easily. I have had a great experience working at MSD and am looking forward to making a change. Please look through all the information this website has to offer about myself and my background.
